In Wellington

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings to you! During this time, I will be reflecting on what I have been doing today! Although, I hope you enjoy!

In the morning, it was time for breakfast. It was a wonderful restaurant, just on ground floor. Although, their menu was stunning.
- Scrambled and pouched eggs
- Baked Bean
- Croquette
- Bacon
- Cereal
- Tea/coffee/juice
- Fruit salads - Yogurts

After breakfast, I thought to come up into my room, have a shower and then start doing school work. No matter if i'm far from school, I will always do school work every-day. SO, I got 2 blogs done today. I would have done a bit more but I started going out for lunch and for a walk up Mt Vic: I will tell you more below.

For 3 months, my grandparents are on a break from work. They take tourist around NZ. Although, one of the guides(Person who brings tour) have asked my grandparents and I if we could go out to lunch together. This was because they were in Wellington for a weekend as well.

Cafe name: Surf Cafe
Surf Cafe was made in 1923 and was used for many sports events. This was a famous cafe. Continuing on, during and after my meal, I looked out onto the habour and watched the planes land and fly away. It was actually my first time seeing planes right up close. And, I would like to go on it one day.

After lunch, we thought to go for a little tiki tour up on Mt Victoria. The view was amazing and I just couldn't believe my eyes: Like everything was standard even though Wellington is a small town. As I was sitting on Mt Victoria, their were one of those travelling ferries. This ferry was departing from Wellington North habour.
Ferry called "Interisland". Although, this ferry was also crossing to Picton S/island cookstraight.

I have been blogging for the last 3 days and today is my last day in Wellington! This is why I have made this last blogpost.

I am really excited to train back to Auckland! I would like to see the nature and outside world again. Instead on being in a inside world where you can only see T.V!

This trip has mean't a lot to me, even if their were old people around, because I had children my age hanging around with.

This trip was also special and I am glad to come back next year:

I would like to thank my grandparents: Katarina Ardelle Davis and Piriniha Reweti Davis for bringing me on this trip, to explore Wellington. This was the greatest vibes we have ever done. I can even remember the time when all three of us went up the ice-cream mountain_I call it this, because I was brought up with this name) And this was like about 9years ago.
So thank you Nan and Popz. I love you too much I can't put a single hate on you!

Thankyou for all the special things you do!

This was the last of the last post I am making for my trip in Wellington:

Kaumatua Kapa Haka _ Final Day

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings to you! Today, I will be reflecting on yesterdays Kaumatua Kapa Haka_Final day:

Yesterday, was the Kaumatua Kapa Haka final. This mean't that the last performance of seeing Te Puru O tamaki on stage was 6/25/2017. Besides this, I really loved their performance because, it lifted my emotions up. It nearly made me cry. This was because, seeing all the elders perform was like a star blinging my world. I am really proud of them: Mainly, my grandfather - Piriniha Reweti Davis.

They were also funny. Showing off their skills of making everyone smile and laugh.

What was your favourite time of the day?

My favourite time of the day would be handing the putiputi_roses) over to my great-nan and also getting to spend more time with my Nan- Katarina Ardelle Davis. Katarina is Piriniha's wife. Although, I also enjoyed getting to see the Gollipoli of War museum.
This museum is free and shows what happened during WW1. Yes! And I can't forget. I also enjoyed the cable cars, seeing the different types of carvings in a store and also getting to pieces of real greenstone.

I really loved watching Te Puru O Tamaki perform on stage.

Arohamai, Arohanui!

Here is the link to the live stream:

You also may see me giving the flowers to my great-nan and also performing back to the Te Puru O Tamaki .

This event is played every year. It is free.

Whakatauki O te Wiki

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Today, I have been working towards my Whakatauki O te Wiki: This whakatauki is "Kaua e mate wheke, mate ururoa"
* Don't die like an octopus, die like a shark.
I think this Whakatauki is very inspiring because their are many people who get scared to fight towards their dreams. The reason why they are scared is because:
1. People hold them back by saying they can't do it.
2. "Or, you stink" you ain't good enough to earn this job.

And this is why I think it is inspiring. If you are struggling towards achieving your goals, because people are holding you back. Then fight: Well not that kind of fight. But, try and get your dreams back and prove them wrong.

Here is the presentation to my Whakatauki O te Wiki:

I hope you enjoy!

Whakatauki O te Wiki

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Today, I am blogging about my Whakatauki O te wiki.

This weeks Whakatauki is:

"He Ora te whakapiri, He mate te whakatariri. _ Their is strength in unity, Defeat in anger"

Here is the presentation to my whakatauki o te wiki:

I hope you enjoy!

Kaumatua Kapa Haka

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Kei te pehea koe?_How are you?) Today, I will be reflecting on what I have done today in Wellington....

During the day, I have been sitting in a theater with crowds watching the Kaumatua Kapa Haka... I am sure you would know what Kaumatua and Kapa Haka is, because I talked through it in my other blog post: (Titled: My trip to Wellington.)

Although, today was an amazing trip. We traveled down to Te Papa stadium to watch our tribe perform on stage. The name of the iwi(Tribe) is Te puru O Tamaki, Ngati Whatua). We are from Orakei Marae.

Besides this, if I was to rate the Kapa Haka group from 1-10: I would give them a 1000/1000 this is because they made everyone's emotions jump up into the air. All the mokopuna_Grandchildren) stood up and sang a song back to our Kaumatua Kapa Haka group. They were just lovely.

Furthermore, the main emotion they gave the audience was "Laughter". I do not know why this was the main feeling the crowd had, but it sure did work.

These elder people are my family members and I am really proud of them for stepping up in confidence to perform what they had in presentation. They worked very hard to earn this trip and performance.

Continuing on, I had to groups in mind that were my favourite.
* Te Puru O Tamaki
* The Choir Pink shirt tribe _ I am not trying to make any fuss into calling them this name, but it is because I did not know their tribe ingoa.

I have called them the choir pink shirt tribe because they were wearing pink shirts and were also singing like a choir. They were just "A.M.A.Z.I.N.G".

If you would like to see the show on live stream for yourself... Hit this link and also comment for your favourite group performance:

Tepapa.govt.nz : The whanau or iwi I represented was Te Puru O Tamaki, Ngati Whatua.

If you understand Maori... They gave a message saying "We fought had for our land. Lost mant people and homes. And we are here to represent in that. " Kia Kaha, Kia Maia, Kia Manawanui.

And you may see me performing to my whanau: Giving a thank you and Im proud of you waiata:
I did muck up on the actions to because I didn't really know it....

Since the mokopunas did a koha to our whanau, we got given a prize to go out to:
* Lazer strike
* Bowling
* Go Carting

Rā Whakatō Rākau - Planting Day Reflection! T2W8

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more geetings! Today I have been working on my Ra Whakato Rakau- Planting Day reflection

Matariki is going to appear in the eastern skies around June 25th or Early May. On Tuesday the Kia Manawanui syndicate (Year 7s and 8s) went to Paddington Reserve to take part in a community planting day, organised by MADAVE. We have been doing planting down at Paddington because it is to celebrate Matariki. This was our version of celebrating Matariki, because it is now a new year and it is time to make a fresh beginning. Although, besides this, the event was AMAZING but tired. All students, well some of them were tired of walking from school to Paddington. Our emotions at first was literally excited, until we took the wrong turn and got lost. Furthermore, I got to make bonds with students from other schools. That was my favourite part, because it was one of my goals. “Trying to make bonds with other students”!
Here is evidence to show my learning!

I hope you enjoy :

Tāku Rākau Whāinga - T2W8

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings to you all! Today, I will be blogging about my Tāku Rākau Whāinga. Meaning - My tree goals. Although, I have been setting myself some goals because as Matariki appears it is time for a new beginning.

Here is my tree goals using google Docs:
What goals would you like to set yourself this new year?
  • Focus hard in school
  • Trying to become a student leader
  • Changing my behaviours or attitude
  • Helping others out
  • Build strong friendships with other students i’ve never talked to before
  • Being a student for people who struggle with anything. Even goes for teachers.
  • Being a role model
  • To use learning time wisely
  • Showing integrity
  • Being responsible
  • Trustworthy person
  • Giving things a go
It could be related to your:
Taha tinana, taha hinengaro, taha wairua or taha whānau.
____________________________________________________________
What could stop you from achieving your goals?
  • Being distracted by friends
  • Giving up
  • Considerations
  • Fears
  • Roadblocks - Meaning people getting in the way
  • Caught up in situations
  • Hard to change
It is good to identify possibly obstacles so that you can plan for ways to solve the problems.
______________________________________________________________
Who will support you to achieve your goals?
  • My best friend
  • Family members
  • Teacher
  • School
  • Community
  • Ancestors
________________________________________________________
Who shines brightest in your world?
The one and main person who shines bright in the world I see, is my Best friend. This is because she has a great personality, though it is hard to see on the outside of her. And mainly because she was a child gifted from above to find someone her type. And that type was me!
Who do you admire the most and who is it that makes you want to work hard?
I would like to admire my grandparents: Prince and Kathy Davis. This is because, they are grandparents who help me to try and achieve my goals and also because they like supporting me in my school work. Besides this, I would also like to admire them because they always tell me, that I can succeed in life.
Now, here is the google presentation slide:

KWL Matariki

What Is Matariki?
Matariki are the 7 sisters who sit upon Earth in order to represent the Maori new year. And is also known as the cluster stars. Matariki appears in the eastern sky around the shortest day of the year. Although, is also has two names represented by the ancient gods and maori's- Which are: Matariki and Mata-Ariki. But, other tribes believe that the stars represent the fallen of our ancestors.

When does Matariki occur?
Matariki occurs in early May or June. Matariki does not occur in the same time every year. This is because, when time speeds up, it takes a lot of time for the stars to travel near Earth.

How do people celebrate Matariki?
Some people can celebrate Matariki in many different ways. Here are ways people may celebrate Matariki:
* Festival
* Hangi
* Camp under the stars
* Light lanterns in the air
* Fire & Camp

Why is Matariki so bright?
Before Matariki appeared, Maori's never had light bulbs to see. But as the stars were awaken, they had enough light to see.
If each star is bright enough to be seen clearly, it gives the sign that the becoming season will be warm and crops will be flourish.

How has Matariki changed over the years?
The way Matariki was celebrated 40 years ago was more different to how we celebrate it in "O17. Back then, families would cook hangi and take it down to the beach as they would have a bonfire. But now days, we celebrate Matariki in festivals. We also light lanterns to send them up to the stars.

Purpose:
Traditionally, Matariki was a sign that the Maori hunting was coming to an end and the planting season was about to begin. It would also give the sign to the Maori's that it was time to harvest.
Interesting facts I know:

* Did you know that if the 7 sisters(Matariki) don't shine, it is saying that it is going to be a bad year.

* Did you know that Matariki was first a whole and the biggest star over Earth. But, the gods who were born over Papatuanuku and Ranginui threw something upon Earth and suddenly hit the giant star. This caused the stars as sisters.

* Some Maori tribes believe to celebrate Matariki on half moon.

* Ancient gods call Matariki pleiades. - Maori's call it Matariki and Mata-ariki. Both : Eye of god or Little eyes.

Now, here are some questions I am struggling to answer! If you know the answer please comment down and I could update this blog post. Credits: From you....

Are the stars named after Ranginui and Papatuanuku?
Are Maori's the only families who celebrate Matariki?
Why do they only come up once a year?

Many thanks! Have a great day!

Matariki Celebrations

Kia ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Kei te pehea koe?_How are you?)
Do you know what Matariki is?
Well, today I will be blogging about Matariki celebrations and what Matariki is. Here are some follow up questions I am going to awnser:

What is Matariki?
Matariki are the 7 sisters who sit upon Earth in order to represent the Maori new year. And is also known as the cluster stars. Matariki appears in the eastern sky around the shortest day of the year. Although, is also has two names represented by the ancient gods and maori's- Which are: Matariki and Mata-Ariki. But, other tribes believe that the stars represent the fallen of our ancestors.

What is the purpose of Matariki?
Traditionally, Matariki was a sign that the Maori hunting was coming to an end and the planting season was about to begin. It would also give the sign to the Maori's that it was time to harvest.
The importance of Matariki?
The importance of Matariki is too celebrate the Maori new year. But, only appears in the eastern sky around the shortest day of the year. Matariki also has the importance of celebrating deceased angels which are our ancestors who also live underneath these sisters.
Although, Matariki is also important because it helps or represents for the upcoming season.

The names of the sisters:
- Matariki
- Tupu-a-rangi
- Waiti
- Waita
- Waipuna-Rangi
- Uru-a-Rangi
- Tupu-a-nuku

What I think Matariki means:
To me, Matariki means the new harvest and bringing families together to celebrate as one whole. Besides this, during Matariki, some families/tribes cook hangi in papatuanuku(Ground,Floor) to send the steam up above to thank our ancestors as we that believe our chiefs live in them.

Besides this, here is a google presentation to show what I know about Matariki:
I hope you enjoy:

My Trip To Wellington!

Kia ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Today, I am standing in a Hotel down from where I live. Can you guess where I am at? Well, I have did a 11/2 hour travel down to Wellington.
Have you ever been to Wellington? I am blog posting about what I am doing this weekends!

Early in the morning - 6/22/2017, we caught a taxi to drive my grandparents and I to this travel station. We took a train to Wellington, because flying was too much. Although, besides this, my journey down to Wellington was Terrific. Here are 3 reasons why I say the journey down was Terrific:
1. I got to see the different types of cities on my way to Wellington
2. Getting to view the nature of Papatuanuku
3. Going over the deep ravines

What was the purpose of this trip?:
The purpose of this trip was because, the elders of my family had been put up to challenge in Kapa Haka. This was like a Kaumatua and Kua festival.

What is Kapa Haka?
From what I know, Kapa haka is a traditional dance from the culture of Maori. Kapa Haka is also the Maori activity of dancing and chanting in groups as an expression of cultural identity. A group of people, no matter if their old or young, they are performers of Maori dancing and chanting.

What is Kaumatua and Kua?:
Kaumatua - The Maori word for elder men. Can also be called "Koro". Meaning: Great Grandpa.
Kua - The Maori word for elder women. Can also be called "Whaea"!
As you walk into a Marae full of elderly people, it is always good to respect them by giving each one a kiss on the cheek or a Hongi

What is Hongi?:
A Hongi is what Maori people use to greet others or to welcome them into their homes or onto their whenua. - Meaning Land. Hongi is also done by pressing noses and foreheads together at the same time.

What is Wellington like?:
In my opinion I would say that Wellington is:
Cold, Wet, Loud.
Most days, fire trucks and police cars are always going around and about. The weather is very wet. And, the climate is too cold. It feels like i'm on ice.

What was your favourite part of the journey on the train?
My highlight would be, getting to explore the outside world and also getting to see what nature really looks like. This has been chosen as my highlight because I always thought that nature was just around houses. But I now know that it is everywhere you travel.

Thanks to my grandparents! I am now loving it in Wellington!
It is also my first time here!

Please comment for any feedforward or Feedback!
Many thanks.

Here is a photo I took on my grandpa's camera during the trip:
Plus, I would have put more photos to show evidence, but the camera could only upload this photo.

Disney's Moana coming in Te Reo Maori...

Did you know that Taika Waititi, who is the maker of Moana has made a call out that Disney's Moana is coming in Te Reo Maori? Disney has announced that Moana will be the first film to be translated into Te Reo Maori. Taika Waititi has considered this to fluent speakers.

If you haven't seen the movie Moana, I am really sorry to spoil it but it is about a young polyniesian girl who travels throught he horizon to save her people and land. Moana is the daughter of the chief. , Having a huge influence of New Zealanders - Which are: Jemaine Clement, Oscar Kightly, Temuera Morrison and Rachel House.

But, much kiwi cast will reprise their roles. Meaning: The role of Moana will be taken from , Hawaiian girl, Auli'i Cravaiho, and given to a young Maori girl- fluent in speaking Te Reo..Although, Waititi is asking for maybe a 13 year old Maori girl, sounding at least like the original Moana(Auli'i Cravaiho).

Applicants must be in fluent Te Reo and a cover version of the movies most memoral song "How far i'll go". The auditions will be consist of a filmed voice-over script in Te Reo,

Here is a message if you would like to audition for the voice-over of Moana. You'll need to be fluent in speaking Te Reo maori!

Auckland dates are set from June 23 to July 12.  But, auditions must be sent in before 5pm Thursday, July.

I wonder who will win the voice-over Moana!

Lets find out: When the next news comes!

My Cultural Food:

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Kei te pehea koe?_How are you?) And good after noon! Tonight, I will be blogging about my favourite cultural dish.Because my favourite culture dish is Hangi. Hangi is freshly cooked in the ground and comes from the culture Maori. In this google drawing, it is telling you what a Hangi dish is and how my culture makes/dishes it out! Although, I have chose Hangi as my favourite dish because it has a nice texture to it and it is also a very healthy kai(Food). In Hangi, it has lots of vegetables and can also have meat with some bread crumbing inside it. This may sound similar to other dishes. Continuing on, I have also threw my hands out to Hangi because I just love it and I honestly think, when another tribe: Meaning family of another culture: try our dish, they will literally fall in love with it! Besides this, I would really like to try another culture dish because I would like to see their passion through food and how they traditionally make their kai!

Here is a questions I would like to ask you:
- What is your favourite culture dish? : Comment below if wanted.

Many thanks! Have a good afternoon

Ko te whakataukī o te wiki - T2W8

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! It is now T2W8 and is nearly close to the holidays. This means my personal goal is to blog as much as I can for these future weeks. I am saying this because, our new whakatauki this week was " Ka Kitea a Matariki, Ka rere te korokoro" meaning "At the time of Matariki, it's time to move". This was a inspirational quote and I hope our next whakatauki will also be inspiring! Although, my own whakatauki to this weeks quote is "Moving towards your goals, even if it's challenging to face. This will help to make your opportunities come true. In times of this, it could also help to keep you moving"
Here is my whakatauki o te wiki presentation!

Blog Commenting

Kia Ora, Malo,Talofa and many more greetings! Kei te pehea koe?_How are you?) Today, room 10 has been blog commenting on PBS's blog. This was because a teacher that use to work at my school is now teaching year 4-6 classes. His name is Mr.Wong. Although, Mr.Wong had emailed my teacher asking her if our class could teach PBS years 4-6's in how to blog. I think this is great because it is actually the first time my class has teached another school how to blog commenting! This may feel embarrassing for that school, but its apart of life and we all have other passions! We are all unique. Although, I am really glad we are teaching Panmure Bridge School because the more they learn, the better they can get. We have been teaching them how to blog comment by commenting on their blogs! The minimum of students we had to blog on was 3! I hope PBS will their best in blog commenting, no matter if their are any mistakes in their comment, because they can just re-do it. !

Here is a photo of the three students I have been blogging on!

Many thanks for letting room 10 TPS for teaching Panmure Bridge in how to blog comment!
S/O to : Mr.Wong and Ms.Kyla

Friday 16th June
My favourite character in this book is Pania and also Kelly. This is because they are caring girls and are also helpful. Pania, because she led Matt to somewhere Puarata would not find him. And Kelly, because she has a caring soul of offering food to Matt. She also helped him clean up. Although, my least favourite character is Puarata because he is selfish and likes to keep everything in gold locks. This sounds like Goldilocks and the three bears. The three bears would be : Matt, Pania,Kelly and the Goldilocks is : Puarata. He is too selfish and likes everything to himself. He doesn’t care about anything else except the tiki bone. The choose Puarata is making is just “STUPID” and the choices Matt is making “Absolute amazing idea”. Because he is trying to keep the tiki bone safe and sound. Besides this, If I was to choose a character to stay with in the book for a weekend, I would choose : Kelly. This is because in the book it sounds like she doesn’t have much friends and I would’ve liked to be her best friend. Although, she is caring and likes sharing anything of hers. She will also take good care of me.
If Kelly invited me to her birthday, I would get her a big gift. For all, the care she has done for me and because she really deserves it. Kelly is a hard worker. I would get her a new car and like about $1,00000 if I could afford it(Laugh). This gift will be helpful of traveling and so her new friends can come in. Meaning: staying over for the night. She can travel anywhere she can and doesn’t need to drive in a rusty old car. She will also have a clean house. Friends and families will start coming over. She could also move to another country or buy her a house or even go shopping. If I was a character in the book, I think Kelly would be absolutely surprised and would be crying tears in happiness.

If any feed forward or feedback, please leave a comment down below!
Many Thanks!

Te Reo Maori _ T2W7

Kia ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Kei te pehea koe?_How are you?). Today in class, room 10 had been working on our Te reo tasks. This was because we are a bilingual class of Te Reo Maori. In this tasks, WALT: Find maori words for different kai's.
Tuatahi : We were to watch a movie. After the movie, we had to remember the kupu(Words) to complete our te reo tasks. Although, something I found tricky was pronouncing the words as I used screencastify! But I am still learning.... My favourite part of this session was, getting to learn more about daily foods in te reo and learning how to speak it in te reo.

Here is my presentation! I hope you enjoy!

Past sessions in Technology_T2W7

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Kei te pehea koe?_How are you?) No naia nei for Hangarau(Technology), we were making clocks. I am in the graphics class with Miss Ferguson. Although, my favourite part of this session with Miss Ferguson was learning more about how to design them. I had a great time experiencing clock designing! This was because, I got to see the talents of other students clocks and I also got to share mine as well.! I finished two clocks today! : A Just do it clock and a Kiwi clock! Besides this, something I found well today was contributing ideas towards the members on my group table and seeing the growth mindset they all had. The characters/students that were on my table were: Akanesi, Perenara, Frances and myself! We were a great team... Helping each other move forward and giving positive compliments about our works. Continuing on, I have been struggling through the work today, because there were so many tricky things to make this clock, this means, I need to improve on trying my best in doing work we are given and never giving up on tasks. I can do this by: Practicing my best and showing every student in the class that I dont need help and that I have the passion to in art. In general, todays session with Miss Ferguson was "Amazeballs" and I hope the other students in her class have finished their own arts, because I would like to see what kinds if talents they have through art.

And yes! I have changed my art thoughts, because I knew that these kinds would be easy!

Here is a photo of my drafts and 3D arts from technology: Back to front.

My other 3D art has not yet been uploaded! But, as I see it, I will update this post or I might even make a new blog post about this "Kiwi clock" !

Many thanks!

Presenting our Sugar Songs/Raps/Poems!

Kia Ora, Talofa, Malo and many more greetings! Today in room 10, all students were to present our sugar songs/raps or even poems. The purpose of this was because, after watching a documentary called "That sugar film", we were to write or play our own songs of the film: About, what we've learned through this documentary and why we humans keep eating sugar! The habits and mostly addiction to this sweetness taste. If you would like to learn more about why we are addicted to sugars: Here is a few tips I got from the movie!

Why do we want sweet food? 100 words
Sugars are hidden in foods we think are “HEALTHY”!  Based on “Everyday products” : Like as - Tomato sauce, yoghurt, flavoured water, mix fruit bars. Etc sugars can cause many illness and sickness. Also linked to “CANCER”! Besides this, according to the world health, a child should have about 7tsp a day. But, in everyday sugars, average child is equaled to 32 tsp sugars and average adult is equaled to 19 tsp, which isn’t much than a child's sweetness. Furthermore, a message has came to mind and has said that sugar is actually good for your skin and blood. Why is this? Once Glucose enters your body, its spreads into two parts and causes the energy to run. Sucrose is the only sugar our brain and body does not need to maintain. But if you eat too much, it can make you feel lazy and tired. More variety in diet - More likely we’re in nutrients we need. Also, sugars behave like drugs and is all unique!

If I was to ask myself what I found challenging? - I would give the question an answer to: Trying my hardest to get my team to part taken in this play and trying to build that confidence into them. And it did work. Because all I said was, " Confidence is the key to opening the world to see what we've learned" !

What my group and I need to work on is giving the confidence to sing louder, instead of leaving 2 -3 girls to sing.

The characters in this song were: Aja, Cerenity, Constance, Irys, Stacey, Frances(But she was sick today)!

Here is a google presentation of room 10's sugar songs!

If you haven't understood our song! Here is the lyrics below!

Sugar is killing. Sugar is high. We all love it, love it, we need it now. When we’re without it, we weaken down. They got me begging, begging i'm on the ground. When we eat it,  we start, we start gaining some pounds. Did you know there was sugar thats BROWN ! Oohhh… babyyyyy... I dont wanna be needing your health, I just wanna be deep in sugar….And its killing me when its away… SUGARRR, NOT DIABETES, IT MAY LEAD TO DEATH IT CAN KILL ME! Kia Ora Tamariki ma! Kei te pehea koe? _How are you?) Ko Constance toku ingoa. Ko ruma tekau toku ruma. No naia nei for Pangarau, we were set into our groups to work on individuals tasks. My group "Porowhita", had been working on lego fractions! Ahatia, something I was proud about from my own learning was, getting to know how to use legos as fractions. The challenging or even difficult about this part of Pangarau session was trying to find the different types of colours of legos because there were a lot of students around it and were building big thins. But, this job was a bit easy because I had my best friend next to me! We were a great team! This " Best friend" is named Cerenity! Besides this, the fractions my buddy and made during mathematics was 1/4, 5/8 and 1/2! A personal goal I would like to improve on is learning and understanding more of my fractions! I can achieve this goal by: Practicing more - And also trying my best in answering questions based on fractions!
We were also given a question using minus! This question was: 231 - 78 = and was answered : 230 - 70 = 160, then 160 - 8 = 152 + 1 = 153
Here is evidence based on mathematics!

Wednesday 14th June

During the book, I have found some parts interesting and some parts strange. This was because for a moment  Matt had been led by the footprints of Pania but is now followed on by a girl named Kelly. Kelly is around her teens and says she a freaky clown: By this, I mean, she goes to fears and plays her shows as a clown. But, the book is still interesting. Besides this, I would like to say that Kelly is a very nice girl because after Matt’s long night stroll or travel, Kelly had offered him some food. What a great girl, she it! Although, I have caught up to chapter 7 and I am really excited to read more!

Many Thanks!

Pre-structural - Novel studies

Tuesday 20th June

I am getting really engaged in the book. The hook has already caught me. It is like I am the sea creature and a human has caught me with the fish hook or even the net. Besides this, I am very confused about this whole situation. I thought that the story would just be based on Matt, Puarata, Tama and the tiki bone, but a new character has arrived. Her name is “Pania”. If have been through my blog, you would have seen all my predictions. I am saying this, because on my Multistructural task, Friday 9th June. You would have seen that I have explained the story. Well! After strangling Matt, it said that a girl was at the end of the traffic. She told him to follow her through these alleyways. This caused them to stop at the Marine Parade. His house was only a few kilometers away to his right hand. What I hope happens in the book is that Pania and Matt would be stuck in the middle of nowhere and mets a new character. This is because I want the book to engage me more  and for it to take me up the ladder. I want the book to sink me in. Although, I am still reading and I am really getting into this book. I will blog another post, predicted on the after read! ..

Multi-structural - Novel studies_T2W7

Monday 12th June
I have read the book for 20 minutes and the story has changed. Do you remember when Mat was getting strangled from Puarata! Well, here is the next part of the story. Mat scrambled up and turned, watching the girl. “Pania”. She greeted him in a melody voice. Mat blinked and shook his head - The moko(Maori tattoo on chin) he’d thought he seen, had vanished from her chin. He thought he’d been seeing things. She stuck out her right hand, and for an instant, the moko had reappeared on her chin. He jerked away in a massive fright. Blood dripped from his face. She told him what to do! As she indicated on her own nose where she meant. He stopped bleeding. She told him “Come with me”. As she led Mat through alleyways until they caught up to the Parade. His house was only a few kilometers away from his right hand side. She led him through a break in the traffic to the palm trees on the median. Two boys throwing stones in the beach stopped and gazed at the girl as they walked pass them. Matt asked the girl if she knew that warrior guy! No response had replied. He asked another question saying “Have you seen this before?” Meaning the tiki bone! She stopped, reached out, but stopped short of touching the tiki bone. Then, her soft brown eyes grew sad. Although, this was the after story book!

Prestructural

Monday 12th June
I have currently caught up to chapter 5 and the book is getting really dramatic and interesting. I am starting to get more and more butterflies every step of the stairs. It’s like my body is condensing together as it sinks through my bones. It’s like my mind has a maze of stories. It’s like every sentence is asking me “Choose me” billions of times. It’s getting to scary and it is like a horror movie flowing inside my bones and body as it is like being punched like a boxing bag. I am really getting into the book! Once I find out more in the book! I’ll post another prediction on my blog!

Whakatauki O te Wiki

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings! Today for our "Whakatauki O Te Wiki" our teacher has chosen "Whatungarongaro te Tangata, Toitu te whenua". As man disappears from sight, the land will remain. I would say this quote as an inspiring one because it has a really big message in it and could be passed on to our next generations. I have learned lots from this whakatauki. My favourite part of this session was getting to know more about our land and how people fought, to save our whenua.

Here is a slide show of my whakatauki o te wiki! Hope you  enjoy!

Sign Spelling & Against the clock

Kia Ora, Malo, Talofa and many more greetings to you all! Kei te pehea koe? (How are you?). Welcome back to my blog. Today for spelling, I have chosen "Sign spelling" and also "Against the clock". If I was to rate myself - I would say that I did a pretty great job! This was my first time using screencastify for sign spelling! Although, my favourite was against the clock. This was because I just found out that I broke the class record in spelling. My total of spelling words all together was "153". I felt so proud of myself. Besides this, my personal goal for this term is to practice hard in spelling and to try and reach the level/stage of 13-14 in spelling! But at this point, I am at level/stage 12-13!
Here is a video of my screencastify and a photo of my spelling words!
A little message: You may not see all the spelling words on the book but these are:
Restrict
Portion
Excess
Moderation
Balanced
Calcium
Evaluate
Intrinsic

Relational_T2W6

WALT: think and reflect on some things that the main character in this text we're reading has done.

1.  Write about a choice the main character had to make this week. A choice that the main character, Matt, has had to make this week is whether or not he was going to follow the steps of some random girl that honestly saved him from seeing heaven. I think he made the right choice as she's the first person throughout the whole story who  frightened Puarata away and I'm thinking she knows what she's doing and maybe she knows where she's going and what she's doing. It sounds that this random girl is pretty, and has a great bubbly, caring personality inside of her. Although, I also think that this Maori girl is probably related to Matt in blood. Only because it sounds like one of the family members. And, I also hope that "Pania", the random girl stays safe. Lets find out next !

Hopefully Matt has made the right decision of following the strange girl.

Please leave a comment on my blog,
Many Thanks!

Friday 9th June
I have caught up to chapter 5 and the book is starting to get very interesting and dramatic. Here is the dramatic and interesting part of the story! Hope you enjoy. A phone started to ring, Maitu yelled “Don’t answer it”, as he sprinted down the stairs. Rikki was holding a whole load of goodies in the shopping bags. Mat ran into the office, where Tama had a digital phone. A number showed up on the lit panel. Tama(Dad) was calling. A few seconds later they realised that Tama must have missed Mat. Mat followed Rikki out the door, dropped his kit and turned to lock up. They heard the phone ring again. He put the key in the lock, when the low purr of a car engine made him turn. Rikki had stopped beside the Ford. The drivers opened the door near-side and Tama Douglas stepped out. From the passenger door, on the far side of the car, Puarata appeared. Mat opened his mouth and said “RIKKI RUN” and jerked the front door. Over his shoulder he saw everyone pause momentarily. Matiu saw Rikki half-turn, his mouth open to yell our something, when Tama’s fist swung in a huge arc that smashed into his jaw, his eyes rolled back into his skull. Over his shoulder, Mat could see Donna flow toward him. He started to run. He ran a block and chanced a glance back. The street seemed empty. He could see the rail station ahead. Puarata caught him and started to strangle Matiu. Matiu opened his mouth to scream, but he couldn’t get enough air, could the gag and fail at the massive fist holding him. A warrior set his hands free. The warrior straightened the first words. It stared at a Maori girl, maybe sixteen standing a few meters away, with flowing black hair. For a second moment, she gracefully had a moko on her chin. His hands went up as if protecting his eyes and he stumbled away as if she were the terrifying thing he’d ever seen. She raised her hand and opened her mouth again, he gave a sudden howl, and ran off into the darkness. He was probably scared of this Maori girl. I wonder what could happen next? Although, I know that this Maori girl is named “Pania” because it says on the next chapter title.

Reflection on Technology! _ T2W6

Kia Ora, Talofa, Malo and many more greetings to you all! Today I will be reflecting on what I have did today at technology...
In Technology today, we were designing some clocks. Before designing these clocks, instructions were given. These instructions were: To open our "Client likes" and "Different types of clocks". This was to plan what we would design before drawing. Although, my client was myself!  The greatest part of today's tech was contributing ideas with the people around me and also getting to see the talents of art through students.
Aswell, after drawing my six designs on each squares, we had to choose our favourite. My favourites were the "Chanel clock" and the "Tiki clock". It was hard for me to choose. It was like either choosing a scary bear or a dragon. Then finally my choice gave up. I had to choose the Chanel clock! This was because it had beautiful designs on it and was outstanding! I also had to get on of the TC(Tamaki College) students to help me choose on what design I could do. And this is where my choice was done. The Chanel was the clock I am going to make. Furthermore, one thing I could prove on for next week, is sitting in a space where no one will distract me and working independently. And mainly, giving things a go while encouraging myself through learning time.
___________________________________________________________________________
If I was to ask myself, "What challenges were hard for me to face?", - I would honestly say "Nothing much". This is because I was set on tasks that is relaxing for me to do and also because I have a big passion in art.! In general, todays session with Ms Ferguson was the best and I hope our clocks will look "AMAZEBALLS" from this point, forward.

I could not get the real photo of what I will be designing during the term. But here is a "Chanel" clock design that is based on what I will be designing. Although, imagine leaving "CHANEL" out and putting the "CHANEL LOGO" in the middle.

Here is a photo of the clock and the chanel logo.
The evidence and proof. !
