Camp Vision Shield - T.E.A.M

IALT: Create a shield that includes the camp vision.

In class today,
the Kia Manawanui syndicate have been creating shields that includes our Camp Vision.
Below is our Camp Vision:

Camp Vision.
T- Together
E- Everyone
A- Achieves
M- More

In the first block, you'll see three buddies linking TOGETHER. To me, this represents INCLUDING others, and BEING APART OF SOMETHING.

In the second block, it has a load of people connecting hands around Earth. To me, this represents EVERYONE. I chose to draw this symbol, because no matter who you are or what your doing. How old you may be, or young you may be, you are still included and linked with everyone else.

The third block, has never ending stairs. This represents, always trying your best, and giving everything you have to ACHIEVE or accomplish a task.

Finally, we have our last block. This represents, MORE. I chose this symbol because a plus sign obviously represents adding, more, and even heaps. And we have more goals coming towards us.

These are what each symbols in the Shield represent. And I hope'd you enjoyed!
Here is an example of my shield.

Explanation Reflection - Writing

IALT: Reflect on my explanation writing.

Kia Ora. Malo. Talofa. ! And greetings.
Today, I will be reflecting on my explanation writing.

-What I am good at, when it comes to writing? What I can improve on? And what future goals do I have for writing?

When it comes to writing, I am good at thinking quickly about what each paragraph will be about. I am also good at organizing my sentences, and basing it all on one topic.

Example: Title - How night and day happens?
Paragraph: Night and day is caused by the rotation of the Earth. When half of Earth's globe faces the Sun, we get day. At the same time, the other half of Earth is facing the darkness, which gives us night. The effect of this, gives us night and day.

Next time, I can improve on using the S.E.E.E structure consistently, and could also improve in connecting to the topic, and relating my knowledge to what I've read or learned.

This would help me to use the structure constantly, and would also help me to gain more knowledge, from what I know to what I've learned.

In the future,
My writing goal is to :
1. Write more powerful words.
2. Use sentences that doesn't have the word in it, but relates to the sentence.

This is the end of my writing reflection and goals.

Technology Reflection - Last Session in Hard Materials

IALT: Reflect on what I've learned in Technology.

Kia Ora. Malo. Talofa! And greetings.
Today is the last day for Technology. And in the last 12 weeks, I've made two pewter castings.

One was of Simba, for my cousin.
And one was of a girl reading a book, for myself, my grandmother, and my mother.

To me, Simba means growing up to know who you are and want to be. It also represents practice, and friendship.

My other casting, with a girl reading a book represents, Learning, calmness, and self-respect.

The challenging part throughout the week in Technology, was sandpapering our casting.
It took me 6 weeks to sandpaper one casting. It might sound like it isn't really that hard, but it was a struggle using 180 grit to 1200 grit.

The effect of the sandpapering helped to smooth out the casting and to also get rid of any bumps and cracks in the casting.

Although, it was fun working on my project.

If there was any next time in making another pewter, I would make a Matau Hook.
For me, this Matau Hook would've represented : My Culture, Old Stories. The patterns would represent : Generations and the future. And the face would represent: Life, and Sacred.

About the Moon : Fun Fact

IALT: Share fun facts about what I already know about the Moon.

Kia Ora. Malo. Talofa!

Did you know that, each year the moon moves 4 centimeters away from Earth. And in millions year of time, the Moon will be dissipated. But soon enough, it'll start coming closer to Earth.

Also, some scientist believe that the Moon was created, from another planet smashing into Earth.
It might sound strange, but this is what scientist believe.

Controlling the tides: The Moon is what control the tides. When the Moon and the Sun are in line together, this makes our tides larger or even when it is a Full moon. (A.K.A -King tides).

______________________________

Fun facts:

1. It takes the Moon 24 hours to orbit the Earth
2. 1 month to complete its phases
3. The Moon changes shape because of the Sun's light reflection
4. The moon controls our tides
5. 5th full moon is the best day to go hunting.

About the 5th Full Moon.

Did you know that the 5th full moon is the best day to go hunting? Here is why:

Day 1. Day 1 is to start peeling.
Day 2. Day 2 is when the pigs get hungry.
Day 3. Day 3 is when you start to get prepared. And track the pigs destination.
Day 4. You need to sleep for the whole day.
Day 5. The pigs are tired. And you have time to catch them.
