IALT: Reflect on our cricket session.
Hello Everyone!
Today, Kia Manawanui had been taking turns of practicing cricket.
What did you learn?
During this lesson, something I have learned was: Catching the ball and throwing it to a good angle and degree. Arm slightly bent, opposite arm straight out and throw.
What did you enjoy?
Something I enjoyed about this lesson was, working together with my peers. This is because, with communication, it would be easier to get the batter out.
What did you do well?
I did well at pitching the ball to the batter, communicating with my peers and catching the ball.
What could you improve on for next time ?
Something I could improve on for next time, is to have a growth mindset. This is because, when someone would miss the bat, I would tense and say "Why didn't you give the ball to me". So, this is something I could work on.
This is my reflection in Cricket. Throughout this whole lesson, I enjoyed everything. A goal for me is to keep my reflection short and brief, with examples and reasons.

Kiwisport - P.E - Tennis
IALT:Reflect on our Kiwisport lesson.

Kia Ora !
Today at Tamaki Primary school, we've been practicing how to play Tennis. Here is a reflection on what i've learned today.
What was your favorite part during this lesson?
Something I enjoyed about this Tennis lesson was, competing with my partner on the opposite side of me. This is because, the more I would challenge myself, the more confident I would get, in working with someone.
Who was your partner and how did it go?
I was partners with Jose and Suave. It was fun working with them because, with the competitions we had, I felt confident enough to verse other boys in any next sessions.
What didn't you like during this session?
Something I didn't enjoy during this session, was running for the ball. When the opposite player hits the ball, and it would go far and over my racket, I would always need to run for it. Mainly, in the sun.
What did yo do well?
Something I did well, was hitting the ball to a good volume and aiming it to my partners bat. This would cause them to hit the ball directly at my racket.
What could I improve on for next time?
Next time, I could improve on being more active and getting into the game. This is because, during this lesson, I felt a bit lack in times. And, I didn't really want to move in any way. Why? Because the sun was out and it was to hot.

My Pepeha - 2018
Kia Ora and Malo!
Today, I will be blogging about my Pepeha.
What is a Pepeha?
A mihi is a greeting in a pepeha, that describes where you stand and where you were brought up. Either by land and the whanau you were growing up with.
A pepeha also includes a Mihi. And a Mihi is a greeting to everyone. E.g: Tena Koutou, He mihi nui ki a Koutou katoa. No Ngati Whatua me Nga Puhi toku iwi. Ko Constance Toku ingoa.
As you see, I have put in a greeting and something about me. Where I stand!

A personal value I think I have showed is Ako. (Learning). A way I have shown this value, is helping others and learning from others. E.g: Telling others about what I think their qualities are.

P.E Reflection - Tennis : Softball
P.E Relfection.

Today, we learned how to get in a ready position and an angle of where we will bat the ball. Where you get ready to bat the ball, the starting position will be set as: Stand straight, with both hands on the handle. If you are a right hander, put your left leg out and wack the ball with the right hand. This is the same as people who are left handers. But opposite sides, with the right leg and the left hand.
With softball, I have learned to pitch and bat the ball my best. I have also learned how to communicate with my peers.
What I need to work on next time?

Tennis :
Next time, I need to work on hitting the ball softer and aiming it to my partners bat. I could also work on following my eyes with the ball, so I can get a better idea of how I will hit the ball.
Softball:
Next time, I could work on how I communicate with my team. E.g: If the bases are full, and someone is near bass 2, and I say pass it to bass 3. I could let them pass it to their nearest bass.
What did I do well?

Softball:
Something I did well during softball, was pitching and bating. I would angle my bat for the pitcher to know where I would like the ball to go and I would also pitch to an angle of where the batter would like to bat.
Tennis:
Communicating with my peer. And having fun while hitting playing the game.

Growth Mindset - Kia Manawanui
IALA: What it means to have a Growth Mindset.
Kia Ora! and Malo!
Today, I have been learning about what it means to have a growth mindset. Of course, in every person we all have those moments where we want to try something new, but don't want to challenge ourselves at doing this. We all have to types of mindsets: Growth Mindset and Fixed Mindset.
Growth Mindset:
Growth Mindset is a part of you that likes to try new things, challenge yourself and also make several mistakes to learn more. The more effort you use in your work, can cause your mind to grow stronger and smarter. Like a muscle in your arms.
Fixed Mindset:
Fixed Mindset is an area of you that doesn't really like to try new things and hates to be challenged. With a fixed mindset, words that come out of your Waha(Mouth) are : "I don't like to be challenged", "This isn't good enough", "Why am I even trying?.".. This is what you call a fixed mindset.
During this lesson, I have learned about what a fixed mindset is.

Creative Stories - Te Tuhi
WALT: Write a reflection about our experience at Te Tuhi.
1. Name at least 3 things that you learned at Te Tuhi?
* Mens and Womens that went to Te Tuhi has displayed some of their artwork on the walls and screens. One of these mens names were : Gary Peters - A slow take and Shannon Te Ao - With the sun aglow, I have my pensive moods.
* Buy the help of creativity, it helped Gary Peters and Shannon Te Ao concoct a design they have related to.
* Gary Peters took and idea from a sealing. Lots of colours. This art piece relates to an air conditioner.
*Shannon Te Ao has created an artwork that is based on his culture, and where he comes from? - Turanga waewae. - Down below is a photo of each artists work.
2. Explain two ways you can take what you have learned to give back to the community?
3. Name one thing you would have liked to spend more time on? Explain why?
* One thing that I would like to have spent more time on was our Role play because people didn't really know there lines so we kind of just made it up as we went through it. In addition, I also wanted to have more time on our role play, because I would've really liked my team's confidence to build up.

* Coming back to TPS, I brought back a positive mindset and a can do attitude!

Current Events - SOLO TAX - Cyclone Gita: Tonga
Kia Ora!
Today, I have been focusing on the cyclone Gita in Tonga.
Using, the SOLO TAXONOMY!.
Through this lesson, something I have learned was: Cyclones and Hurricanes have different storm paths.
Cyclone:

A cyclone is a variety of air that circles around the lower atmosphere.

In meteorology, a cyclone is a large scale air mass that rotates around a
strong center of low atmospheric pressure. Cyclones are characterized by inward spiraling winds

What I think?
A hurricane a storm of wind that spins around the world in the
lower atmosphere. Causing harder and strong rain and winds.

Kia Manawanui - Class Treaty
Kia Ora!
Have you ever heard of the Waitangi treaty?
Well, the Waitangi Treaty is all about the Pakeha Nation and the Maori Nation, coming together for an agreement upon Aotearoa- New Zealand. Waitangi was signed in 1840 February 6th.
Now days, we still celebrate the Waitangi treaty, by: Having festivals, celebrating with family members etc.
As you see, on the New Zealand flag, the cross represents the british nation and the stars represent the Maori nation. This comes together in peace.
Besides this, at Tamaki Primary School - Kia Manawanui, we have all signed a class treaty that relates to our school values.
Last week, we were split in 5 groups to collaborate together in getting a treaty done, for everyone to agree towards on. We also chose an acronym to relate to our value and area. My area was online, and my acronym was TRUST:
This year, I am really hoping for this class treaty to be shown consistently throughout the year! Because, with positive attitudes, it can lead others to the right pathway.

Attitude Programme - Friendship Factor
WALT: Identify skills to help us make new friends.
Kia ora, Malo, Talofa, Bula and many more greeting to you from me and my blog. I and my blog are going to welcome you back in a reflective description.
To begin with,
in attitude program, we were learning about different kinds of friendships. Through this session with our talker, I noticed that lots of things are changing for me. I have realized this, because there are ways I make friendships. I am a true friend who lets my friends do what they want to do and I also accept what they would like to do in the future. In addition, my goal for this year 2018, is to make my communicate more to my peers and learn more about their cultural background. A true friend is someone who understands your past, believes your future, and accepts the you today of who you are. Making new friends isn't always easy, but it could be the best of the best.

* Remembering special times
* Learn to listen
* Be YOURSELF.

Attitude Program - Who Am I ?

School Values - My Goals
Kia Ora! And welcome back to my blog..
Here at Tamaki, there are 5 main keys that are needed to unlock the privilege of being a good Tamaki Student! Those 5 keys are Whanaungatanga, Manaakitanga, Rangimarie, Tukumarie, & Ako. Today in class, I have learned the 5 values and how it can be shown consistently around the school. Commonly, if you are a leader. Down below, is a DLO I have completed of how I can show these school values effectively throughout 2018.
