Technology at T.P.S

WALT: Use technology to make apple crumble
Hello everyone, and welcome back to my blog!

This term we've been learning about our technological world.
This week we didn't go to Tamaki College for technology, so we stayed back and made apple crumbles. During this process, I was most proud of dicing the apples evenly without cutting myself. We diced the apples so that we wouldn't have groups of apples in one small tin. As we used small pastry shells.

While we were making the apple crumble, I found cutting through the apples most challenging because my knife wasn't sharp enough. The technology I used to cut through the apples, was a butter knife! Yes a butter knife. This is why I found it most challening !

Although,
here are some photos of me and my group..

OMG I LOOK SO CUTE !

Thankyou for viewing my blog and I hope you enjoyed !
GOD BLESS YOUR DAY ! LOVE YOUS ALL!

Technology - Graphics

IALT: Create an Isometric Optical Grid
Hello and welcome back to my blog, today I will be talking to you about what I've learned at technology.

In technology, we have been creating some isometric optical grids. The meaning of isometric is like a three dimensional art. Lets use a cube for example - It has three sides and is also isometric. Another word for it - 3D.

Here is a photo of my work!
My face was to beautiful for you to see ~

To create this art piece, we used a isometric grid to help us draw and cut out triangles.
We then traced it out onto coloured paper !
After it was traced, we used a plain white paper and started to make cubes with this coloured papers.
We glued our cubes together and there it was .... Our piece of isometric optical grid.

...

The challenging part about today was tracing our triangle out. Because the paper would either move, I would trace crookedly, or my cutting would be wobbly.
Although, I made it through from this challenge and the outcome of my grid was what I expected, but not really. (If you understand) .....

Overall, technology was fun and something new I learned today was, isometric optical grid.
Hopefully, in the future I get to use more of this art genre and could maybe create something great from it !

...

Off topic, but it is now time to reveal the face of beauty !!!
TADDDAHHHHHHH~

...

Here is also my work by itself:

.....

I hope you enjoyed reading my blogpost, and enjoy your day!
BYE!

What Is Technology?

WALA: Our technological world.
Key Question : How does technology affect us ?

Image result for how gif

Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog, today I will be explaining and sharing with you what technology is and how it affects us in our world.
During our lesson about technology, I´ve learned that there are several types of technology, such as:

* Transportation
* Construction
* Medical
* Mechanical
* Biotechnology
* Agricultural
* Energy and power
* AND MORE,

Image result for more technology gif

Throughout this whole session, I've really enjoyed getting to learn more about technologies and the different types of technology. Did you know that, not all technology has/needs electricity, technology means/is something that has a useful purpose. Example : Spoon - A spoon is a technology because it has a useful purpose of letting us eat food.
Although, two technology types I liked learning about was, Agricultural technology and medical technology.

Transport Technology:
Transportation technology is where someone transports/moves from one place to another, using machines, objects, or legs. An example of this are :
*Cars
*Bus
*Boats

Medical Technology:
Medical technology is what doctors use for patients. An example of a medical technology are :
* Reflex hammer
* Stethoscope
* Blood pressure monitor

Image result for medical technology

These things/technologies can help us in life because if makes life much easier and also faster. It helps us to solve problems. The transportation technology can help me to transport from one place to another, and the medical technology can help me when i´m sick or sore.

These technologies can be improved when more medical technologies are designed to help prevent viruses/diseases. And also when more cars like electric cars are made so that we wouldn't need to pay for gas, because we would only need to charge the car.

________________

The use of medical technology is to help people and to prevent anything bad happening to us.
The use of transportation technology is to help us all get from one place to another without walking. This way would be much faster and easier to use.

So,
technology is important because it makes life easier and has a big part in our life, as it helps us all day and everyday.

Technology Graphics Week 2

IALT: Reflect on what I´ve done for technology
Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog!

Today for technology, we have been working on comparing and contrasting 2 different phone stands. We were also learning how to draw 2D and 3D shapes. Keep reading to find out more!

This photo shows the 2 different phones stands I have chosen for my comparing and contrasting.
The similarities of these two stands, are that they are both phone stands and can also hold devices.

What´s unique about each stand is that, one is made of wood and the other is made of metal material. They are also different shapes and colours, and also have nice texture.
______

After comparing and contrasting, we were learning how to draw 2D and 3D shapes. Squares, rectangles, letters, triangles and also circles.
___

Oblique:
Pronounced as a ¨Obleek¨.

2D - 3D = Dimensional
2D - 2 sides.
3D - 3 sides.

Here is a photo of my drawing:

When you draw a 3D circle, it is called a Tangent ; or cylinder.
10% represents - 1 in 10 and 10 in 100.

Today,
Technology was great and it was fun learning more about shapes and contrasting and comparing.
Thankyou for viewing and I hope you enjoyed my blogpost!

Technology - Graphics

IALT: Reflect on what I've done for technology,graphics.
Malo E Lelei and welcome back to my blog! Today for technology, we have created a google drawing about ourselves. We used pictures to show people what we enjoy in our everyday lives and to also show who we are.

Something I like to do in my spare time is to go on social media and or to dance.
I also like to listen to music, from the artist : Tupac or XXXTENTACION as they are who I really look up to.
I would describe myself as a koala, because I like to eat, sleep and watch movies all day. FYI, don't interrupt me please, if I am sleeping,eating or watching movies, because it just puts me off or I will get annoyed.

Besides this, something else we've also done was find pictures of many different phone stands, because later on the term, we will be creating our own phone stands.
The phone stand that I hope I get to make is a mickey mouse stand. Where, mickey mouses's hands are out holding the phone.

Here is a photo of my google drawing : ME .

GOOGLE DRAWING : PHONE STANDS

Something I really enjoyed about this day, was getting to know more about other people and also finding out what I like to do or enjoy.
The challenging thing about this session was, finding all the different types of things I like on google images, as they all needed to be transparent.

Although,
I enjoyed the day at technology and I am looking forward to do more phone stand creating!

THANK YOU FOR READING MY BLOGPOST AND I HOPE YOU ENJOYED!

Technology - Cooking Class

IALT: Reflect on my cooking session at technology
Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog! Today, I will be reflecting on my cooking class session - As it says on the IALT:

This session we made Hawaiian pizza. Although I don't like pineapples, the pizza went well with the other ingredients, which are - Dice, Ham, Chicken and cheese.
Something I really enjoyed about this session was once again, eating the food! As it melted in my mouth, it was like I was in wonderland. With the best combined flavoured food.
Throughout this session, I didn't find anything challenging because i've already experienced, how to make a pizza. If you would like to have a try at making your own Hawaiian pizza, read below to see the recipe book.

Technology - Cooking Class

IALT: Reflect on my cooking class session
Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog, today for cooking we made : Sausage kebabs.
Something I really enjoyed about this session was eating the kebabs. It was even better when the sweet chilli sauce was added to my kebabs. Can you just imagine what it looks like?

Besides this, I also enjoyed the maths that was added into our cooking session. What types of maths was added? Well, it was fractions. Because I still need to work on my fractions, it was good learning through cooking.
Example: I cut 1 whole sausage into halves. The halved them again, which made quarters. Then I halved the quarters, and that made eighths.
Throughout the whole session,

I will just say that everything that block was AMAZING! The food was spectacular, and my cooking was updated. (Skills grew).
Here is a photo of me and the kebabs I made:

To make this delicious kebab you will need:
- Skewers
- Knives
- Sausages
- Peppers
- Onion
- Baking paper
- Tray

Step 1.
Put skewer into cold bowl of water (So it don't burn in the oven)
2. Slice sausages, Onions, Peppers (Try not to make it small)
3. Combine food on sticks (Be creative of how you layer them)
4. Add baking paper on tray. Then put skewers onto baking paper.
5. Bake 15 minutes.
6. Add sauce (Optional).

I hope you have fun making this kebab! And thank you for reading my blog!

Technology - Cooking Class

IALT: Reflect on my technology class
Kia Ora and welcome back to my blog! Today I will be reflecting on what I've done at technology.

At technology, my class made some hot cakes. - Pancakes.
Something I enjoyed about this session was, eating the pancakes. Something I thought that ruined my pancakes was the whip cream. Although I did enjoy the chocolate sizzle on my pancakes.

Something challenging for me was flipping the pancakes. This was because when me and my buddy flipped the pancakes, half of the pancake would be cooked or uncooked or the oil will splat on our skin. I was the one who mostly got hit by the oil.

Keep reading to find out how to make hot cakes:

Hot Cakes.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 of s.r flour
1 sugar
1 egg
1/2 of milk
Mix all ingrediants together

Recipe Book:
1. Heat oil / butter in pan.
2. When it bubbles, pour mixture into pan
3. When pancakes bubble - flip over
4. Wait for other side to cook
5. DECORATIONS - OPTIONAL
Whipped cream with chocolate sauce.
6. NOW YOUR PANCAKES ARE READY TO BE EATEN!
I really enjoyed cooking class for the past few weeks, because the food we made, just made me feel like the greatest cook known. Also, because I got to connect with my pairs during cooking class. !
I now know how to cook or bake!

This is me and my buddies hot cakes.

Technology - Cooking Class

Kia Ora!

Today at technology, the year 7 and 8's were split in our year groups.
The year 7 were making Macaroni and cheese, while the year 8's made Quiches.

My buddy today at technology was Aletheia. It was great getting to cook with her.

One thing I really enjoyed today at technology,
was eating the Quiches. It was honestly amazing!

The challenging thing about cooking the Quiches was trying to equal the egg in the muffin tray.

Here is a google drawing of how to make Quiches:

Here is a photo of my buddies and I Quiches:

Thankyou for reading! And I hope you try and make it yourself!

Technology Reflection - Last Session in Hard Materials

IALT: Reflect on what I've learned in Technology.

Kia Ora. Malo. Talofa! And greetings.
Today is the last day for Technology. And in the last 12 weeks, I've made two pewter castings.

One was of Simba, for my cousin.
And one was of a girl reading a book, for myself, my grandmother, and my mother.

To me, Simba means growing up to know who you are and want to be. It also represents practice, and friendship.

My other casting, with a girl reading a book represents, Learning, calmness, and self-respect.

The challenging part throughout the week in Technology, was sandpapering our casting.
It took me 6 weeks to sandpaper one casting. It might sound like it isn't really that hard, but it was a struggle using 180 grit to 1200 grit.

The effect of the sandpapering helped to smooth out the casting and to also get rid of any bumps and cracks in the casting.

Although, it was fun working on my project.

If there was any next time in making another pewter, I would make a Matau Hook.
For me, this Matau Hook would've represented : My Culture, Old Stories. The patterns would represent : Generations and the future. And the face would represent: Life, and Sacred.

Please leave a comment! And I hope'd you enjoyed my reflection!.
